Lakeshore Family Care - Dr. Gregory Stempky


Greg Stempky, D.O.
  Dr. Gregory Stempky was born and raised in Cheboygan, MI. After receiving his degree in Biology from Lake Superior State University, Dr. Stempky began doing research with the bioengineering program at the University of Utah.

At the same time he also became employed through Salt Lake Valley Mental Health. It only took a few months for him to realize that working in a lab was not his calling and he needed to do something where he could directly work to help people. That is when he decided on a career in medicine.

Dr. Stempky received a scholarship from the United States Air Force in order to pay for Medical School at Michigan State University – College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Stempky completed a Family Practice residency through the Air Force in conjunction with the University of Nebraska College of Medicine.

Dr. Stempky spent over six years in the Air Force. He spent time in Grand Forks, North Dakota as a Flight Surgeon. He did his Family Practice residency at Offutt Air Force Base. He spent his last few years in Tampa at Macdill AFB with the Special Operations Command. Dr. Stempky and his family moved to the Spring Lake area in October of 2003.

In March of 2007, he realized his dream of going into practice with his medical school roommate, Dr. Kval.

Dr. Stempky is married to Nancy and they have four children; Jack, Ethan, Anna and Clare. In his spare time, Dr. Stempky likes to golf, fish, and spend time with his family.
