Lakeshore Family Care - About Us

Lakeshore Family Medicine opened in March 2007. Our goal is to provide comprehensive, quality health care in a timely fashion. Our physicians, board certified in Family Medicine, are qualified to care for the needs of your entire family, from infants to the elderly.

Patient convenience is at the core of our office policy. Built around the needs of the patients and not necessarily the needs of the doctors or staff, every facet of our office has been thought out to reflect what’s important to our patients.

At the heart of this idea is our easy access policy. We know that illnesses are not scheduled events. Therefore, we offer extended hours of operation during weeknights and remain open during lunch hours.

Also, in addition to regularly scheduled office appointments, we accommodate patients who feel they need to be seen urgently. So our office is ready to see you on the same day you call or walk in. We realize your time is valuable and so our goal is to see you in an efficient manner.

Scheduling appointments
When calling for an appointment or walking in, just remember to have your insurance information with you. If you are a new patient, try and arrange to have your prior medical records transferred to us or bring them in with you for your first appointment.

After Hours care – Answering Service 231-737-3857
During the day please feel free to call our office with any healthcare question and a message will be left with one of our providers to call you back if they’re not immediately accessible. For after hours issues, including weekends, we provide our patients with an answering service phone number
(231-737–3857) which they can call to contact an “on call” provider.

Of course, if the situation is an emergency you should not hesitate to go to your local emergency room for more immediate care.

Medication refills
Prescriptions normally are called in the same day, but to be safe always plan ahead and give yourself plenty of time before you run out of medicine. You should maintain a one or two day supply of medicine while you are waiting for your prescriptions to be called in. We will only call in prescriptions for established patients and we never refill narcotics over the phone.
